Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor

Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor (DARKER THAN BLACK-流星の双子- Dākā Zan Burakku -Ryūsei no Jemini-?) is an original Japanese anime series directed and written by Tensai Okamura and produced by Bones. It is a sequel to the 2007 series Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha with most of the crew returning for production duties. The series premiered on TBS, MBS and their affiliated stations from October 8, 2009.[20] The sequel tells of Suou, a Eurasian girl whose life is changed by a frightful incident regarding a meteor shower, and her subsequent encounter with Hei, who is still on the run from the Syndicate two years after the events in the previous season. Like Darker than Black, Ryūsei no Gemini is also based on original material for anime with no other media.

The series was released on both DVD and Blu-ray beginning from December 23, 2009 with an estimated eight volumes. Each odd-numbered volume will contain two series episodes, while an OVA episode will be released along with one series episode in each even-numbered volume. Altogether four OVA episodes, they will be side-stories of the main characters Hei and Yin, with the events set in between Kuro no Keiyakusha and Ryūsei no Gemini.[21] Two pieces of theme music are used: one opening theme and one ending theme. The opening theme "Tsukiakari no Michishirube" (ツキアカリのミチシルベ?, lit. "Guidepost of the Moonlight") is sung by the Japanese rock band Stereopony,[22] while the ending theme "From Dusk Till Dawn" is performed by Abingdon Boys School, who previously did the first opening theme for Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha.[22]

Following the advice of Madame Orielle, Suō proceeds to an airport to find her mother. At the airport Hei appears and kidnaps one of Misaki's teammates, easily evading Mina and escaping. Suō's mother cries upon meeting Suō in the airport, believing she is her twin brother Shion. In a car Suō tries to explain that she is not Shion, but her mother dismisses this saying that Suō died 8 years ago.
